Halfway there...

The average team needs 100 points to secure a slot in the playoffs.

The Capitals have 51 points in 38 games.

That's pretty darn good for a team whose top player slumped through October, didn't have solid goaltending until recently, hasn't fielded its opening day lineup since opening day, and at one point had four Hershey defensemen making up the defense lines.

Yeah, it really has been a roller coaster ride so far this season.

  1. Well I agree with Mrytle I think 90+ points gets ou in - for the Eastern Conference I see no more than 95 being required and for the West no more than 92. That said the Caps are on pace right now for 110... I don't see them catching the Bruins but I also think that's what their goal needs to be to reach the next level. Of course that's why they play the games on the ice. See Myrtle's post here.
    LETS GO CAPS!!!!!

  2. I think they can catch the Bruins. I think the Bruins will hit a patch of ice, and slip up while the Capitals make up some ground. I don't expect the Capitals to pass the Bruins but I do think it is possible. Ovie and the gang love being numero uno, how great would it be to be first in the SE and first in EC?
