Pre-Cap: Caps vs. Canucks

It's Canadian Appreciation Night at the Verizon Center and, to celebrate, we're playing a Canadian team!

Washington Capitals (1-1-0, Last game W 4-2 vs. Chicago)
vs.
Vancouver Canucks (2-0-0, Last game W 5-4 vs. Calgary)

The story so far...
The Capitals rebounded after a hairy first period to fend off the Blackhawks, but now they will need a solid 60 minutes of hockey to beat Vancouver.

Ones to watch
WSH: Alex Ovechkin, Alex Semin, Tomas Fleischmann, Jose Theodore
VAN: Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Roberto Luongo

The man in question, and in goal...
Jose Theodore has had mixed success against the Canucks. He is 11-9-1-2 with a GAA of 2.71.

Ovie and the 'Nucks
Ovechkin has 4 points in 2 games (2G and 2A) against the Canucks.

Those Sedins, they're so hot right now
Daniel Sedin currently leads the NHL in points (5), while his brother Henrik has 4 points.
In addition to being pretty good hockey players, they are rumored to be good dancers...

Former Cap update: Matt Pettinger
Former Capital Matt Pettinger won't be facing his old team tonight. The Canucks waived Petty before the season started. He is currently playing with the Manitoba Moose.

Last season's meeting
The Canucks won 3-2 at the Verizon Center.

We're going streaking!
Some point streaks to watch tonight...
David Steckel, 2 points in 2 games.
Alex Semin, 4 points in 2 games.
Entire third line, earned a minus in both games.

Hell if we don't win, at least we can blame Canada.

LETS GO CAPS!

  1. Nice work, CK. Can anyone make out what the Sedins say at the end of the NHL promo? Didn't know about Petty being sent down. As always, you've got me ready for tonight's game!
